Birth is a portal to another dimension. In a time where you can hop on instagram or other social platforms and see a baby emerging from a woman’s body in video clips that last a minute or so, you have to seek out more complete real life examples to develop deep reverence of this sacred passage.
Reverence for birth

This unedited birth video footage is a panoramic view of a mother led, family birth.

It includes from the time I settled in for the pushing phase until after the emergence of the placenta. You’ll see a seasoned father, my husband, holding the container of the space while my other two children are in and out of the room. There are many intense moments, boring moments, funny moments and everything in between. You’ll see me in various nervous system states but overall this is a calm, inviting environment without a sense of urgency, fear or concern. Nothing about this birth was complicated.

When considering if and how to share this video, I contended with the complexities that birth is a normal part of our physiology and also spiritual and sexual and sacred. When I got honest with myself, I knew it wouldn’t feel good for me to share in a very public way so this feels like a good middle ground. I’m calling in women who will be respectful of my family and myself. You will not have access to download this video and I ask that you don’t screen record it to share in other ways.
